Austrian Progress Report 2025

In accordance with Article 21 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1263, annual progress reports must be prepared and published by 30 April of each year. These contain information on the progress made in implementing the fiscal structural plan, in particular the net expenditure path and the relevant set of reforms and investments underlying an extension of the adjustment period.

The annual progress report 2025 is the first Austrian report covering the years 2023 to 2025. As a new federal government was inaugurated in Austria on 3 March 2025, the European Commission has granted Austria an extension for the submission of the first annual progress report together with the Austrian Fiscal Structural Plan for the years 2025 - 2029 and the Draft Budgetary Plan 2025 and 2026 until 13 May 2025.

As the Austrian fiscal structural plan is submitted at the same time as the first annual progress report, this year's report only presents the budgetary and macroeconomic results for the years 2023 and 2024 and the current macroeconomic forecast and budget planning for 2025 as well as the implementation of reforms and investments as part of the European Semester.

The Austrian Progress Report 2025 (PDF, 424 KB) was approved by the Council of Ministers on 13 May 2025 (English version as an unofficial courtesy translation of the offical German version).
